The removal of the USSR state emblem from Tallinn’s Mere Cultural Center and the covering of a ceiling painting featuring Red symbols—occurring in the 35th year since the restoration of independence—reignited discussions about the need to clear public spaces of everything that reminds us of the Russian occupation and the ongoing war of aggression in Ukraine.

We continue the discussion on Wednesday’s Reporteritund, featuring Tallinn Deputy Mayor Tiit Terik, cultural manager and PR specialist Meelis Kubits, and historian and city councilor Jaak Juske. Hosted by Kaja Kärner.
