In December 2024, the documentary “Monuments and Oranges” by director Ken Saan, about Soviet monuments and their removal, was shown on ETV. The film focuses on monuments in Tehumardi and Ida-Viru County.

In 2024, an unprecedented number of alleged Soviet war graves and monuments were reburied and cleaned up in Estonia. Is there a real story behind each monument, or are they myths we have been fed? The reburial of war graves provides a unique opportunity to look at historical events through found evidence.
We will explore the original aims of the monuments and how Russia uses them today to influence narratives and conflicts to its advantage.
